Charity Information
The charity provides a range of social and information activities for people with dementia and their carers. Bi-monthly social meetings are held at St Nicholas Church Hall in Allestree. These are very well attended with entertainment, activities and refreshments provided as well as information provided by guest speakers. Our website also contains a wealth of useful information. In addition we have regular excursions to places of interest.
All of our activities are designed to help avoid social isolation and to keep our members physically and mentally active, to share experiences and build new friendships.. This is a proven strategy to enable people to live well with dementia for longer.
Mission Statement
Welcome to our Charici page. We exist to enable people to live well with dementia for as long as possible. Dementia is a socially isolating experience which, in turn, can lead to depression and an acceleration of the progression of the symptoms. With continual diverting and engaging activities, along with building new social networks with others facing the same challenges, it is possible to delay, or even stop, this visious cycle, improve motivation and enable a better quality of life for longer.
